Position Summary Lantern is seeking an experienced mobile engineer to help fight censorship around the world through our censorship circumvention tool. Lantern uses a variety of networking and protocol tricks to sneak traffic past censors in some of the most repressive censoring countries in the world. On the Lantern team, you will be a part of consistently deploying protocols and strategies that have never been used on the internet before. For mobile development, we make heavy use of Flutter and Go. Experience with networking and full stack engineering is also encouraged. If you’re excited to tackle thorny social problems with software, or if you’re an experienced engineer who thinks they might be ready to tackle a new kind of challenge, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Design robust APIs to support mobile applications Transform business requirements into creative solutions and stylish UI pages Proven ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in small, remote teams. Build intuitive, engaging and progressive user interactions for mobile apps Deliver well-defined features of small to medium complexity on a regular basis Debug and fix issues in development, testing, and production Participate in software design for features and bug fixes Required Qualifications Fluency in Farsi is required 2+ years of experience with native Android or iOS development Strong proficiency with Dart, including Flutter Knowledge of mobile development best practices Experience with third-party libraries and APIs such as REST, GraphQL, etc Expert proficiency in Flutter for Android and iOS Strong foundations in the principles of visual display of information Strong knowledge in the architecture and implementation of Android or iOS applications Experience working with popular libraries for networking, asynchronous, image loading, etc….
